Suzie DeVaughn, LMSW is the Founder and CEO of Self-Care Specialists, LLC. Suzie facilitates compassion stress management courses for professional caregivers and stress management training for business professionals. Additionally, she serves as an adjunct instructor at Wichita State University School of Social Work and provides therapy in a private practice setting. Her experience includes counseling clients at a holistic health center, within a women’s shelter and practicing social work at a community mental health organization. Suzie’s business experience includes working as a human resources professional for a Fortune 500 corporation and a Global Fortune 500 employment agency.

Her education includes a master’s degree in social work from Wichita State University and a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications from the University of Kansas. Suzie is certified as a Compassion Fatigue Educator and Compassion Fatigue Therapist through the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. Some of her therapy modalities include EMDR, Hakomi Body-Centered Psychotherapy and Psych K.

In addition to professional training and experience, Suzie has proficiency in holistic self-care techniques and intentional living as a result of her personal life experiences. Over twenty years ago, at the age of 26, she was exposed to arsenic and suffered from a variety of health problems caused by the toxicity.  With the assistance of talented holistic healers, lifestyle changes and a strong commitment to her self-care, she has made a full recovery and is in excellent health.

Suzie has a passion and calling to serve those who desire or are in need of improving upon their current self-care, in order to improve the quality of life for themselves and the people they impact. It is for this purpose that she founded the heart-centered business, Self-Care Specialists.
